The UNITE Chaucer House project aimed to redevelop an unused site to create a home for 484 students within minutes of Portsmouth’s train station, university and historic dockyard. Architecturally the building boasts a complex multi-textured façade, which has been sympathetically designed to reflect its surroundings. 

 

Metclad Contracts completed the building’s extensive roofing and cladding package which included Knauf Earthwool rainscreen insulation, 104mm Kingframe Steel Framing as well as a Nvelope wall cladding support system. To complete the façade Aquarian Gebrik cladding was used in Rustico Amari Aubergine (1350m x 675mm) alongside Sotech Aluminium PPC Axalta. The building also features an ABG Green Roof System which like UNITE Chaucer House will continue to grow and develop for years to come.
