The £440 million development of the Westgate Shopping Centre aimed to completely transform the city’s retail landscape. It has undoubtedly achieved this whilst also seamlessly stitching itself into Oxford’s future and historic skyline. The innovative design of the new development revolves around a mix of covered streets, lanes, arcades and squares, giving its visitors a beautiful architectural setting to explore and shop.
Metclad Contracts completed various parts of the centre including its new cinema, arcades and roof terrace. Due to the scale of the project Metclad worked with numerous suppliers including, Belgrade Insulation, Contrasol, Eurobond, Kingspan, SIG Design & Technology and NDI Birmingham. To create the stunning arcade, we used BTS Fabrications 2mm aluminium polyester powder coated timber backing trays with Wood Lane Timber Merchants FSC European oak fins.
